Exciting times indeed at Explore Wine headquarters this week as we make our plans to launch our business by publishing the website in time for the start of Spring here in Perth, Western Australia.

Founded by winemakers, Explore Wine brings a fresh new offering to wine events and wine education here in Perth, Western Australia. After making wine for 25 years, studying and travelling the world of wine along the way, as well as being involved in wine judging, plus writing about wine, we are certified wine afficionados.

1/ What is your favourite wine?

Well, it really does depend on the occasion and what food is being served, however an elegant, savoury wine style is our fave. Well balanced, medium intensity - much like us!

2/ What makes Explore Wine different to other wine tasting companies in Perth?

Run by winemakers, the knowledge is broad and has depth much like a good Chardonnay, the events are highly interactive as well as fun and engaging.

3/ Where are the tastings hosted?

We come to the venue of your choice or we can suggest a venue that would suit your occasion. We can work with you to tailor the event to ensure success.

Private clients, for example, can host at their home and serve tapas whilst we arrive and host a 1-2 hour Spanish wine tasting.

Or a corporate event may include a much larger group of people hosted at their office venue with a tutored blind tasting to test peoples skills and promote team building in a fun interactive way.

4/ Do we get a certificate?

For the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Courses then yes you may need to sit an exam and you will receive a certificate on passing. For other tastings, we are happy to provide e-certificates congratulating the participants on their successful completion of the tasting.

5/ Have you seen "Somm" the movie?

Yes, we love all wine movies and "Somm" does make everyone much more interested in blind wine tasting. This is where you taste a wine without knowing anything about it and try and figure out its origin, variety, vintage year. Many hours have we spent on doing just this and we enjoy teaching others about it.
